Thousand Yards (When In Rome)

Thousand yard stare

Today

Today, I ceased to care

The fire burned me

This life, it broke me

This life rebuilt me

In it’s own twisted,

Perverted image

When in Rome

When in Rome

When in Rome

The lines on my face

Each one, a scar

A lesson

How it truly is

How it must be

Cold

Cruel

Bask in it

Bathe in it

Revel in it

When in Rome

When in Rome

When in Rome…

  1. That’s hard hitting Kevin. My husband used to wake me up shouting in his sleep – I could tell he’d been in some pretty hard situations.

    1. Thank you, Sharon. I can’t imagine not being able to find refuge in sleep. Must be truly awful.

    1. Thanks, Chris! Sadly, I think far too many of us can probably relate to some degree.
