Random Thoughts From Gorilla HQ: 3/14/25

First, a Happy Holi to those who are celebrating. Enjoy your festival!

The other stuff:

The 60-hour work week? Meh, not a fan, to put it mildly. Whomever invented that concept clearly never worked it. Or just hates people. ๐Ÿ˜„

Sazon. Now, whomever invented that deserves a freaking medal! That stuff is bomb, straight up. Dump that on your chicken thighs and let the magic happen.

Already have 9 submissions for this latest edition of NTT. Off to a rocking start. Keep it up, folks! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Unconfirmed rumor from the mill says that Alex Van Halen is currently working on an album of unreleased VH material. If true, this is the musical equivalent of the Holy Grail for me. Time will tell. ๐Ÿคž

That’s one big Grail, but it is the Altar of Ed, after all.

On that final note, it’s a wrap. Stay frosty, kids, and don’t let the bastards wear you down.

Until next time, GHQ, over and out.

Kevin, thanks for the Holi wishes! A festival where you fling colors instead of worries? Now thatโ€™s productivity I can support!

My contribution for NTT dropping in an hourโ€”brace yourself for the usual Philo-style chaos. Reader reactions may vary from “genius” to “what did I just read?”

As for Alex Van Halenโ€™s rumored album? If true, I might just build a shrine next to my spice rack.

Stay frosty, keep the Sazรณn flowing, and may the 60-hour workweek never find us!

    Over and out.

    1. Unfortunately, it’s already found me. I am trying like hell to ditch it with minimal success thus far ๐Ÿคฃ
Looking forward to the NTT drop. Incoming! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Dude, if that unreleased material becomes a reality…I won’t even speculate how I’ll react. lol

Enjoy the Holi, Philo! Much happiness to you and yours! ๐Ÿ™

      1. May the 60-hour workweek lose your address permanently!
If Alex Van Halenโ€™s album drops, we might need a national holidayโ€ฆ or at least a mandatory listening break.
Stay strong, captain! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿคฃ Had a lovely time while celebrating Holi. Thank you.

  2. I use Sazon Goya whenever I make Latin-inspired dishes, especially those with chicken or beef as a main dish. Delicioso!

  8. Just dropping by to say Hi, so Hi, a 60 hour work week, nope don’t like the idea just away to screw with the average worker

    1. Hi Joanne, hope you are having a nice weekend. Unfortunately, it’s one of the perils of working on a rotating shift. For every short week there’s a long week to make up the difference

  9. Sixty hours is brutal. What is it you do for sixty hours a week? When I was on my own with my three teenagers I worked 80 hours a week working in admin. That sucked but someone had to pay bills, buy groceries, and buy me a new turbo charged convertible. (Ok maybe not the convertible, but it was really cool.) ๐Ÿ™„

    1. You have to enjoy some fruits of your labor! Lol
I work as a supervisor in manufacturing. Its a rotating shift so it’s one short week, one long week and it keeps alternating like that. The ahort weeks are nice but paying for it the following week takes some starch out of you lol

      1. Ah, I see. You have my sympathy. My husband worked in a steel plant. Those short weeks sound great but the long ones are a killer and I don’t think anyone ever adjusts to the back and forth. It’s hard. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

      2. Thanks, Annemarie. It is definitely a grind. I don’t work in the steel industry, but we work with a lot of steel parts. Pressing, tempering, etc. Not for the faint of heart.
And no, you never really do adjust fully lol

We have a sizeable Latino population up here as well and it’s found in most every market, along with a ton of other fantastic seasonings!

Nice to know! I know it’s been a little tricky for my daughter to find some things on the west coast, so whenever she visits she immediately heads to a Cuban restaurant. ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. Yeah we’re lucky up here. We have a lot of diversity, so there’s a lot of options. Hispanic, Eastern Euro, Caribbean, etc. It’s nice instead of the same old, same old.
