That Time Of Year

Daily writing prompt
What is your favorite type of weather?

I know I have only answered this exact same question a time or ten, but what the hell. I’m in the mood to bitch about the weather a bit anyhow, since it is hampering my ability to bounce back from recent “stuff” that happened to me. πŸ™„

Personally, I think Fall is the almost perfect balance between too hot and too cold.

And this one’s just right…

Springtime, unfortunately, is akin to Hell on Earth for me. Pollen and I do not react well to each other at all. To the point that I used to get shots for it, until those stopped working too.

Summertime. I get the allure, and I love the concept of the aesthetic, but it has to be damned near perfect for me to truly enjoy it. Like high-70s/low-80s and dry with a breeze. Once the humidity kicks in, I am over it. It also does not help that the hotter and muggier it gets, the more like the Devil’s furnace my workplace becomes – Up to about 120 degrees on the right day.

Wondering why the hell I didn’t find an air conditioned office gig with Free Ice Cream Fridays.

Winter is a close second to Fall for me. The cold temperatures are refreshing. The only things I could do without are cleaning massive amounts of snow, or getting wet and cold. That combo does not appeal to me even a little, as I have had a few bad experiences stemming from that.

Love the snow, not the cleanup.

That’s why I default to Fall. The days are clear and comfortable and the nights are perfectly good for sleeping 9/10.

And, honestly, you can’t beat the colors too.

Can’t beat that color palette for sure.

And, last but certainly not least, there is also a very special birthday that comes along in Autumn. πŸ˜‰

Now, whose birthday could it be? πŸ€”

So, yeah, if I have to pick one, hands down it’s Fall. Give me that 24/7, 365 and we are good to go.

Have a great one, kids!

I’m sorry you have allergies that sucks. I do love that fact that every season has its perks.

    1. Definitely pros and cons to each, yes. My personal feeling is that Fall has the best balance, but of course, to each their own.
It’s allergies from hell for me, yeah lol
Unfortunately, right now I am also recovering from ingesting some less than healthy stuff so the extremes are knocking me on my ass. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Thank you, and of course – Fall is my fav too! ❀️ 😘
It’s funny because being born in the hotter months you’d think you’d enjoy it more 🀣 πŸ˜† nope, no sir, not for you! (I’m over the heat too!)
I’ll take some fall colors 🍁 and snow ❄️ please πŸ€ͺ

No, I have never been built for the heat. Born in Spring and down south, but to be fair, was not there that long. πŸ˜„
Most of my time was spent in the Great White North lol
Yes, fall colors and snow are much more my speed too
I kinda of planned that you would. And you already got the other one 😘

  3. Summer is my favorite season of the year, but in Michigan, I think September is my favorite month because it’s still transitioning from summer into fall. We still have very warm days, and yet cooler nights.

    Liked by 2 people

    1. Yeah, September is definitely nice. It’s usually a good mix. I like a bit cooler, but I am ok with most anything after Labor Day, because the light is at the end of the tunnel!

  4. Kevin we only have one season here in Scotland, winter πŸ™„ jk.
I do like fall and spring, but a hot summer is rare.

Honestly, I envy you if the summer is not that hot. I’d be much happier if it was less so here!

  5. I agree that autumn is the best time of year. It’s still chilly and windy where I live in spring.

I’m with you on the favorite season, fall is definitely the best. The temperatures are perfect, the changing leaves bring so much beauty to this world, and let’s not forget the pumpkin and apple cider cravings that come with it. The only thing I dread about fall is what follows after. Great images, Brother. Have an awesome weekend.

    1. Thank you, Willie. And I hope the same for you as well 😊
Yes, it is a nice mix. A very good balance, and the colors cannot be beat!
I am not a huge pumpkin fan (small doses), but I do enjoy cider, for sure!

  8. Beautiful images today, Kevin. I hope you have gotten checked out after that work incident. Back in the day, one of the guys came into the shop where I worked and cut up a bunch of composite decking one weekend. He left drifts of the ‘sawdust’ from one end of the shop to the other. I came in on Monday, caught a glimpse of it and left until it got cleaned up. (I am super allergic to wood). A few days later, I got a painful pinch in my side. Two days later, I was in the hospital with a collapsed lung. I was in that hospital for three weeks, then transferred to another hospital for a week. Good times! 🀦Take care! ❀️

    1. Thank you, Annemarie. No, I did not get checked out. It’s been about a week and it’s now morphed into fighting the rapid weather changes more than anything.
The worst of it at this point is just plain old throat irritation.
Fortunately, the area where it happened I rarely have to spend a lot of time in. Last week was an exception, but if that happens where I need to be there for an extended stay again, I’ll be grabbing a dust mask, because the particles never really go away even with filtration and ventilation.

      Liked by 2 people

      1. I’m glad you can avoid the worst of it and that you have masks to wear when you do go there. I get that there is only so much that ventilation and filtration can do.

      2. Yes, it’s not perfect by any means. Ideally, we wouldn’t need it, but those materials are a vital part of the process. All we can do is protect ourselves the best we can.

  9. Without a doubt, it has to be the fall. Nowadays, the summer can get excruciating with the heat and humidity. I especially do love it when the leaves change color. And much like Goldilocks, I want the weather to be just right. I don’t know if it’s just me, but for some reason, grapes taste better during the fall. Nice post, Kevin!

I have never noticed that grapes taste better, but you might very well be right!
The heat and humidity can get downright unbearable, I agree completely. Usually by mid-May, I am already complaining it’s too hot at some points. πŸ˜„
