The Final Song

You’ve eluded me for far too long

Every night, your haunting song

Your taunting laugh within my ears

Always try to stoke my fears

You took away all that I had

Tried your best to drive me mad

A coward true, you always run

You hide until the setting sun

With evening comes your misery

But tonight that ends, I will be free

I will hunt you to the death

I’ll hunt you ’til my final breath

Through you heart, I’ll drive my spear

Tonight, it’s you who will know fear

You’ve haunted me for far too long

Tonight you sing your final song

Dedicated to anyone who has had that thing in their life that made them feel ugly, stupid, less than or inadequate.

Whether that “thing” was a person, an event, or an internal struggle, I hope you can find the strength to hunt it down and eliminate it, or them, from your life forever.

Stay strong.

  1. Loved this one, the words and meaning behind them.
And yes, itโ€™s always the cowards who run fast once they know theyโ€™ve been found out.
Also love how you attributed it to a situation that can make us feel that way as well.
    Very powerful! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  4. It takes courage to face our enemies even if it means to simply walk away. Their is an imagery we can do of visualizing the ties between us and the person or thing hurting us and taking a golden scissors an cutting those ties.

    1. That is a very good point, Mary. Sometimes cutting bait and moving on is the best.
